The Giving Circle does not require a volunteer commitment from its members but the members who choose to volunteer have found they gain a connection to the community worth far more than the time and money they invested. Any time you can give helps expand and sustain The Giving Circle’s investment in Alexandria.
Only have a little bit of time? Take advantage of quick and easy things you can do to meet immediate needs in our community by following ACTion Alexandria. We publicize many of their ACTions on our Facebook page and on our Twitter feed but you can can find out about all the ACTion going on by signing up.
Looking for more of a connection with Alexandria’s human services organizations and the community? Volunteer for a Giving Circle gift recipient. This is a way to see your financial contributions at work and truly engage with your community. You may volunteer as a liaison to one of our Gift Recipients or directly for one of our Gift Recipient organizations. Please email us of your interest and availability and we will help you find the right opportunity for you.
Looking to make the Giving Circle itself a lasting part of Alexandria? Volunteer for the Giving Circle of Alexandria at a level that works for you. This could be as simple as hosting an event, helping with phone calls or a more significant time commitment such as serving as a committee chair, on the Gift Committee or on our Board of Directors. The Giving Circle relies on its members to manage and lead our efforts. Opportunities to manage and lead The Giving Circle are available to all members and provide a chance to apply individual expertise and develop new skills. If you would like to volunteer to help with Giving Circle Operations, let us know of your interest and availability and we will find a place that is a fit for you!
What commitment you make is up to you. We think you will find the rewards are worth the investment! In addition to making a real and lasting difference to children in Alexandria, we can promise you new friends, intellectual challenge and hope for the future of Alexandria’s children.
