Instructions for Voting in this Election

On January 17, 2012, a Call for Nominations was sent to Giving Circle members to encourage members to consider nominating themselves or other members for open Officer and Director-at-Large positions. After receiving input from Giving Circle members and the current Board, the nominating and election coordinator presented a slate of Officer and Director-at-Large candidates to the Board for their consideration. The Board approved the slate and recommends that Giving Circle members vote for all the nominees. Nominees elected will take office July 1, 2012 and will serve for one or two years as indicated on the ballot.

Anyone who has invested $100 or more in The Giving Circle of Alexandria  between January 1, 2011 and April 15, 2012 is eligible to vote in this election. Each eligible member has one vote. Review the information about the candidates on the slate, then cast your vote online by May 28, 2012 by opening the ballot page and following the instructions to submit your vote.

Please note that for your vote to be counted you must mark one of the four vote options. To verify your ballot, we need to be able to read your name, so pllease fill in the ballot completely and it must be received by the deadline for the vote: May 28, 2012.

A simple majority of votes cast by eligible Giving Circle of Alexandria members is required to elect the nominees. If an individual nominee or nominees are not elected, the Giving Circle of Alexandria Bylaw provisions governing vacancies will apply and the Board of Directors will elect a new officer or director with input from designated officer(s). If the entire slate of nominees is not elected, the Bylaws provide that the current Officers and Directors-at-Large will remain in place until a new election process is completed.

We expect to announce the results of the election at the Giving Circle Spring Celebration on June 05, 2012. Election results also will be sent to all Giving Circle members and to the larger community around that time.
